If you're quesy about making music at the expense of pythons, we have exactly what you need.
This erhu uses synthetic material for the resonator in place of python skin. Rosewood is used for the rest of the Erhu. This Erhu is fitted with fine tuning mechanisms for easy tuning.
This Erhu sounds loud and clean. Some might argue that the tone sounds artificial, but we think it sounds very close to a snakeskin Erhu. Its hard to tell the difference actually. (Listen to the sample clip below)
Good instrument to bring along your travels, especially to avoid questions from pesky custom officers. And you don't need to worry much about the climate affecting the snakeskin.
